E-Recycling

Electronic wastes (e-waste) overtime release toxic chemicals (i.e., lead, mercury, arsenic) which can seep into the ground contaminating water
supplies and escape into the atmosphere.

  • Reusing or recycling computers can create 296 more jobs per year for every 10,000 tons of processed computer waste compared to disposals in landfills or by incinerators.
  • By recycling 1 million laptop computers can save enough energy to run 3,657 U.S. homes for a year.
  • It is estimated that Americans throw away $60 million worth of silver and gold per year via cell phone disposal.

Although nearly 100% of e-waste is recyclable the current e-recycling rate is very low. Divert your e-waste through e-recycling and do your part to help save our planet.
